Call Congress with us on January 27

Call Congress with Us to Support Voting Rights!

You can watch the full recording of this event at the YouTube link here.

We will be calling our Congresspeople and Senators in support of the Board of Prisoners Card Release Act, which would mandate federal prisons to provide free ID to people upon their release. Not having an ID makes it very difficult to be able to vote or to access healthcare, housing and employment. This act would help remove some of these barriers.

Here is the background and talking points on the bill.

What is “Call With Us?”

If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to advocate effectively—or nervous about calling a member of Congress—Call With Us! is for you. In just 30-40 minutes, we’ll guide you step-by-step as we all make real calls. We’ll walk you through how to find your members of Congress, give you clear, up-to-date talking points, and then make our calls together, live. No prior experience needed—just bring your phone and your commitment to justice and equality.

Whether you’re new to advocacy or a seasoned activist, this is your chance to show up and speak out—in community, with support, and with impact. We will walk you through how to call and give you ideas on what to say.

Register today and join us on November 3rd and together we will call on our federal legislators to defend the rights of LGBTQIA+ people and reject policies that promote discrimination, religious exemptions, and the erasure of LGBTQIA+ lives. Whether this is your first time making a call or your fiftieth, you’ll be surrounded by a network of supportive, like-minded people. Because action is always easier—and more powerful—when it’s shared.
