JFASD Florida Initiative

Mission and Vision

The Florida Steering Committee of Jews for a Secular Democracy mobilizes pluralistic Jewish voices AND allied communities to defend the separation of church and state, advance religious freedom, and promote equity and justice across Florida. We center Jewish values, lived experiences, and a commitment to pluralism in the fight against religious extremism in public policy.

We envision a Florida where all people—regardless of faith, gender, sexuality, or background—can live with dignity, safety, and equal rights, free from religious coercion. Through strategic partnerships, inclusive advocacy, and education, we strive to build a vibrant, multifaith, multiracial coalition committed to preserving religious freedom, democratic values and protecting civil liberties for future generations. Our Florida initiative fosters social change by empowering a growing network of activists to better articulate values on issues to their families, communities and the population at large and ultimately build momentum toward policy change and genuine religious freedom for all.
